Meet Mr. Bake
Kareem Queeman, known as Mr. Bake, fell in love with all things sweet and yummy at the tender age of 8.
Now, he is the Founder and Owner of Mr. Bake Sweets and a James Beard Award semi-finalist.
As a child, he was encouraged by his grandma to bake his first cake, and eventually, he enrolled in a home economics program in middle school, which sparked his passion for bringing smiles to people through his delicious baked goods.
Mr. Bake is always pushing boundaries in flavor and artistic design and that led him to the competitive baking world. He has appeared on several shows and has won awards and accolades wherever he competes. Most notably, he won the Bake it Like Buddy show on Discovery Family and went head to head with Bobby Flay on the Beat Bobby Flay show.
As Mr. Bake continues to perfect his craft and grow his business, he is committed to showing up as his authentic self and being an inspiring role model as a Queer Black man.
